Learning Resource Provider Survey |
Introduction
This survey seeks to gather insights from potential learning resource providers about their interest and capacity to contribute to the RLTS. Your feedback will inform the development of a sustainable, integrated training system that leverages the strengths of both public and private entities to enhance food safety nationwide through an “open marketplace” for training.
The FDA's Integrated Food Safety System Regulatory and Laboratory Training System (RLTS) is a nationwide initiative designed to enhance the training and competency of professionals involved in human and animal food safety.
Standardized competencies for the regulatory and laboratory professions have been established by FDA. These are called the National Curriculum Standards. Private training providers, including industry organizations, academic institutions, and professional associations, are encouraged to participate in the RLTS. FDA will not be the only source of training for this community. Providers can contribute by developing and delivering training resources that align with the NCS and meet quality standards, thereby expanding access to quality training and supporting the professional development of the food safety workforce.
Providers’ training resources can be submitted to the RLTS’s National Coordination Center (NCC) which will verify the competencies that the provider’s training resource meets, and the resource will then be profiled in a national catalog so learners can find that resource as they are looking to meet certain competencies. The incentive for regulatory and laboratory officials to use resources in this national catalog is that it will demonstrate adherence to their national Program Standards.
Providers retain the intellectual property of their resource (it is not necessary to house the resource on the NCC’s platform) – the national catalog will point learners to the location of the provider’s resource.
The survey comprises just over ten questions, and should only take a few minutes to complete.
