Reopening our Meeting House

The Ministry & Worship committee along with the Clerk and a few representatives from other committees are interested in your experience with our current Zoom worship and issues related to getting back together at Langley Hill when the Covid-19 pandemic subsides. As you respond to the questions, please consider both your own needs and those of the broader Langley Hill community including our families with children and older members. Your responses will be kept confidential and will help us develop appropriate plans for reopening the meetinghouse.  Please respond by July 10th.
Quality of Current Worship
1.How would you rate the quality of Zoom Meeting for Worship in the last few months given the pandemic, economic strains and racial justice concerns?
2.How would you rate the discernment in our Zoom Meeting for Business?
Form of Langley Hill Worship
We are exploring four options for future meetings for worship recognizing that some people may be ready to return to Langley Hill before others. Please indicate Yes or No for each option in which you or your family would be willing to participate.
3.Continue our current Zoom worship until nearly everyone is comfortable being physically back together at the meetinghouse with appropriate safety measures in place.
4.Have two separate worship services; one in person at the meetinghouse and a Zoom Meeting for Worship (at the same time or slightly different times Sunday morning).
5.Integrate the current Zoom worship with worship in the meeting room by creating a “hybrid” video meeting that would allow everyone to see and hear each other (laptop, phone and/or video monitor) and enhanced audio (speakers) added to the meeting room.
6.Create an integrated audio Meeting for Worship with both in-person and Zoom together but without any video component in the meeting room.
Guidelines for church communities recommend limiting the number of congregants present such as, 10 people or 50% of the capacity, to maintain safe distancing depending on the “phase” of reopening in Northern Virginia.  Thus, we may need to limit the number of people in the meetinghouse or meet outside.
7.If we held smaller Meetings for Worship in the meeting house at various times on Sunday or during the week, would you or your family be open to attending such smaller Meetings for Worship at a time other than Sunday morning at 10 AM?
8.Would you be interested in attending a Meeting for Worship outdoors (e.g., in the Country Day School lawn), weather permitting?
Imagining Worshiping Together Again
9.What criteria will need to be met for you or your family to feel able to worship at the meeting house? Indicate all that are necessary.
10.What do you miss most about not worshiping together physically?
11.Provide any other further thoughts on the process or prospects of returning to in-person worship at Langley Hill Friends Meeting?
12.Your name (optional)
