Description of the Research: Through this present study, the relationship between ethnic identity and psychological well-being will be examined, as well as, the role perceived support of participants’ mothers plays in this relationship. Participation in this study will take no more than 30 minutes.

Procedures: If you agree to participate in this study you will be asked to complete a set of questionnaires regarding your ethnic identity and other demographics, mother’s support, and psychological well-being.

Benefits and Risks: There are no risks associated with participation. Benefits include obtaining additional information on how ethnic identity, a mother’s support, and psychological well-being influence one another, in either positive or negative ways. However, should you feel distressed after your participation; if you are a Loyola student, you may wish to contact the Counseling and Career Services Office, 208 Danna Center, 504-865-3835; if you are not a Loyola student, you may wish to contact the New Orleans Counseling Center, 716 Adams St., 504-813-1457.

Research Data and Records: Records of your participation in this study will be kept confidential. A code number will be used to identify your responses. Results of this research will only be reported as summarized data and will not contain any identifiable individual information.

Voluntary Participation: Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. At any time while you are participating, you may withdraw and terminate your participation without consequence.
