Nursing & Midwifery Strategic Workforce Plan 2022-2026 |
Our inaugural Nursing & Midwifery Strategic Workforce Plan identified twenty-nine priority actions to be addressed during 2019 to 2021, within three priority areas:
1. attracting and retaining the best nurses and midwives,
2. empowering the provision of best care and
3. enhancing clinical and professional leadership.
Despite the many challenges presented to us all during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Nursing and Midwifery Directorate have successfully completed twenty seven of these actions and one deliberately removed due to changed circumstances.
It is now time to develop and implement the plan for this year and beyond, with the aim to consider the strategies and priorities needed to support and grow our workforce to meet future demands to ensure the provision of the Best Care for the people of the West, in the right place and at the right time.
Through engagement with Divisional Directors, Directors of Nursing and Midwifery and Unit Managers a list of strategies have been generated, and we would appreciate your input and suggestion – so please complete the survey questions below. Your combined, anonymous responses will assist in informing the strategies we will prioritise for the next 5 years.
