Hello everyone,

The World Stroke Congress will be taking place in Montreal from October 17-20, 2018.  In order to support attendance at the World Stroke Congress this year, the West GTA Stroke Network would like to offer to reimburse the early bird registration fees  in addition to providing a travel bursary up to max. $700.00 (i.e. flight, train ticket, mileage with proof of payment).


Participants practicing in stroke care in the West GTA stroke network will be chosen on a first come first serve basis until all funds are allocated and based on the following criteria:

-Equal representation across the continuum of care and between regional stakeholders
-Additional responses provided to survey questions 

***Please note that final choice of attendees will be approved by the West GTA Stroke Network director.***   
This year the registration options will be:
1)      “Group A” Allied Health Professionals, Nurses, Young Scientists/Students Early Bird Registration (register by July 3rd). Cost of conference is $300 US dollars.  ***Please note that either an approval letter signed by the head of department or copy of status ID will be required during the online registration***. 
2)      For all other professionals in “Group A” (i.e. physicians) the registration rate is $700.00 US ****For these participants the cost of the registration is reduced through purchase of a WSO membership at US $60 which will bring the cost of the registration down to $500 US.  Please visit http://www.worldstrokecongress.org/2018/registration-(2)/registration#.WqBUR9KWziw  for more information.

Please note the funding application will close on May 10th, at 12 midnight.  Applications will be reviewed the week of May 14th to May 18th. Only successful applicants will be notified the week of May 21st via e-mail outlining next steps. Manager approval is required of all applicants.
