* 8. By entering this competition, I:

1. genuinely and irrevocably consent to: 
(a) any act or omission of any person (including BWF) in connection with the Content, at any time, which might otherwise infringe my Moral Rights; and
(b) without limiting clause 1(a), use of the Content without identifying me as an author or creator of the Content;  
2. acknowledge and agree that I have not relied upon any statement or representation made by BWF before granting the consent at clause 1; 
3. represent and warrant that the Content that I have submitted is an original work and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, or, if the Content is not an original work, that I have all licences, authorisations and any other consents necessary to share the Content with BWF;  
4. grant to BWF a perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, royalty-free, sublicensable and nonexclusive licence to:  
(a) use, reproduce, copy, adapt, modify, make derivative works of, publish, transmit, distribute and commercialise the Content, in whole or in part, in any form, for any purpose; and 
(b) use my name, image, voice and likeness to identify me as the source of any of my Content (subject to any limitations related to my age); and 
5. acknowledge that BWF reserves the right to publish or not publish any Content for any reason and has no obligation to notify the Submitter of such a decision. 

Additional terms and conditions:
  • Entries close 22/4/2022. No responsibility will be accepted for late or misdirected entries. All entries are deemed to be received at the time stamp on the entry. Any entries submitted outside the promotion time and date parameters outlined above, or after the promotion period has closed, will not be included in the promotion.
  • Winners will be announced on 08/05/2022 and notified by telephone and/ or email same day. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Staff, artists, retailers and their immediate family members of South Bank Corporation and Bridsbane Writers Festival may not enter the competition.
  • Entrants must be over 18 years of age.
Definitions 
The following words have the following meanings: 
BWF means UPLIT Association Incorporated t/a Brisbane Writers Festival (ABN 22 722 077 982) of Festival House, 381 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006. 
Content means submissions made by the Submitter to BWF including, but not limited to, any word document, image, audio-recording or video-recording, and any personal information (including any sensitive information) (as those terms are defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) included by the Submitter. 
Moral Rights means the rights conferred by Part IX of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and any similar rights existing or that may come to exist anywhere in the world, including:   
(a) a right of attribution of authorship; 
(b) a right not to have authorship falsely attributed; and 
(c) a right of integrity.
