2016 Chamber of Commerce Award Nominations

You may nominate a business, non-profit, or an individual (as indicated below). You do not need to make nominations for all categories. Please identify the name of the business/individual in your nomination and provide a brief description of your reasons for this nomination. Nominations may only be made by representatives of members of the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

* 1. Business of the Year.  This award is given to a Chamber of Commerce member business that consistently exceeds customer expectations, supports the Chamber and our community, and embodies good corporate citizenship.  2015 Winner:  Rapid Press Printing & Copy Center.

* 2. Non-Profit of the Year.  This award is given to a Chamber of Commerce member non-profit organization that consistently delivers on its mission in the community, supports the local business community, and embodies good organizational citizenship.  2015 Winner:  Forest Lake Rotary Club.

* 3. New Business of the Year.  This award is given to a Chamber of Commerce member business that opened its doors in our community between October 1, 2015 - today and has already demonstrated that it consistently meets customer expectations, supports the Chamber and our community, and embodies good corporate citizenship.  2015 Winner:  Express Employment Professionals.

* 4. Business Advocate of the Year.  This award is given to an individual or group (need not be a Chamber member, may be an elected official) who consistently advocates business-friendly public policies.  2015 Winner:  Economic Development of Forest Lake.

* 5. Chamber Volunteer of the Year.    2015 Winner:  Nannette LaNasa, Rapid Press Printing & Copy Center.

* 6. Community Volunteer of the Year.  This award is given to an individual (need not be a Chamber of Commerce member) who supports the community by giving freely of his or her own time.  2015 Winner:  Rob Collins, Collins Law Office/Forest Lake Rotary Club Winter Plunge.

* 7. Keep it Local Award.  This award is given to an individual, Chamber member business, or other organization who actively supports the growth and prosperity of the local business community by consistently buying local and encouraging others to do so.  2015 Winner:  Alex Bulmer, Big Apple Bagels.

* 8. Green Champion Award.  This award is given to a Chamber member business that demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable environmental practices in the area of water stewardship, recycling/waste reduction, or staff volunteerism.  New award.  Funding for this award provided by Washington County BizRecycling Program grant.

* 9. Business Innovation Award.  This award is given to a Chamber member business that demonstrates innovation in their business through the successful launch of an innovative new product or service and/or through a consistent commitment to supporting and encouraging innovation within their organization.  2015 Winner:  Waldoch Crafts.
