Please use this form to register to attend the RISE Reception Year Network Showcase at Fleetville Infant and Nursery School on the 12th March 2026.
The session will cover the following areas:
1. Foundations for early writing - through purposeful provision
visitors will see how emerging writing is secured through a carefully designed environment that prioritises fine and gross motor development alongside meaningful writing opportunities. The focus is on strengthening the physical foundations for writing through play, routines and adult interaction, ensuring children are developmentally ready to write with confidence and control.
2. High quality oracy – visitors will see how oracy is embedded through everyday practice. The setting demonstrates a strong, consistent focus on oracy, with adults modelling and scaffolding talk using the EEF ShREC principles. Visitors will observe how structured talk, high-quality questioning and responsive interactions support language development, vocabulary growth and children’s ability to express ideas clearly across the day.
3. Enabling environments – an environment that secures strong foundations for learning. The Early Years environment is intentionally designed to promote independence, sustained engagement and high expectations for all children. Visitors will see how routines, resources and adult roles support children to revisit learning, apply skills across areas of provision and build the self-regulation and learning behaviours needed for future success.
Showcase timings: 8:30am start, finish at 12pm
School address: Fleetville Infant and Nursery School, Royal Road, St Albans, AL1 4LX.
Further details will be emailed to you closer to the event.
