Community Consultation Survey - Ray's Rest Rooms

Ray’s Rest Rooms, Market Street Carpark, Forres, off Ley’s Road

Forres-based charity Ray’s Opportunities (SC 045561) has recently purchased the long-abandoned public toilets in Leys Road car park, with the ambition of transforming it into a properly equipped, comfortable and well looked after facility.

We believe everyone – including disabled people, young families, older residents, and visitors – deserves access to safe, comfortable, and properly maintained public toilets. With facilities in the town centre currently limited, this project could make a real difference to daily life and independence for many in our community.

Before plans move forward, we want to hear from you. This survey is your chance to share your opinions, concerns, and ideas about the future of the site. Your feedback will help shape the development and ensure the new facilities meet the needs of the people of Forres.

1.How important is it that Forres town centre has accessible, well-maintained public toilets or, as we will call them, Rest Rooms?
2.Would you personally use the new Rest Rooms when they open in 2027?
3.Who do you think will benefit most from this facility?
4.Would you support the development of a Changing Places toilet (https://www.changing-places.org/) serving people with
complex disabilities?
5.How strongly you agree that opening these Rest Rooms would will benefit Forres as a community?
