2026 Davis Apartment Vacancy and Rental Survey |
Introduction
The following survey collects data on vacancy and rental rate information for apartments within the Davis community. This information provides an important database for campus and community planning purposes. The survey results are used to help determine the feasibility and appropriateness of future housing projects, as well as to assess the market for current and future UC Davis students. Aggregate results are also provided for public use.
We encourage you to look for the survey results early next year on the UC Davis Student Housing website at housing.ucdavis.edu/vacancy-report/.
When you are completing the survey, please keep in mind that we are keeping information separate for “below fair market units,” which require an income eligibility test in order to qualify for reduced rents. By separating out this information, we can provide more accurate comparisons between market rate units.
The information you provide will remain confidential. We will use the information to identify aggregate vacancy rates for the entire Davis community and will report average rental rates for various apartment types. We will not report rental rates or unit information for specific complexes. However, where possible, please complete one survey for each property owned or operated by you, your company, or your organization.
Please complete the questionnaire by no later than Friday, December 11, 2026.
