This survey is exclusive to U.S workers who have experienced workplace bullying as described below.
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), established by Occupational Safety & Health Act, is a research agency focused on the study of worker safety and health. It is part of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Department of Health and Human services.
NIOSH defines workplace bullying as “repeated, unwanted harmful actions intended to humiliate, offend, harm, undermine, or degrade, and can cause lasting physical and psychological damage.” Further, it identifies workplace bullying as a psychosocial hazard, “factors in the work environment that can cause stress, strain, or interpersonal problems for the worker” (CDC, 2022).
