Dear AMWA Northern California member,
Following the directions of our bylaws, this is our slate of officers for the 2017-2018 year.
VICE PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT ELECT: Sandy Ruhl began her career as an RN at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose. After working as a nurse in oncology, she became the Cancer Research Coordinator for Mills-Peninsula Hospitals in Burlingame and San Mateo. This position provided a transition into industry, and she achieved certification as a CRA in the mid-90s. She then held various positions in clinical operations: regional monitor for Theradex Systems in Princeton, NJ; consultant CRA with Clinimetrics in San Jose; senior CRA at Tularik (now Amgen) in South San Francisco; and Senior CRA and, subsequently, Clinical Operations Manager at POINT Biomedical in San Carlos. Sandy then transitioned to regulatory (mostly) medical writing and became Senior Manager of Medical Writing at Cerexa in Oakland and, later, Director of Medical Communications at InClin in San Mateo. Sandy now works as a consultant medical writer and QC reviewer, working on a variety of clinical and regulatory documents.
