Please Note: Unless stated otherwise, if the individual(s) you nominate are selected as the award recipient(s), you will be the primary point of contact for coordination between LeadingAge Michigan and selected award recipient(s). This includes responsibilities such as helping LeadingAge Michigan with onsite filming logistics, providing content (verbiage, photos, etc.) for publication materials, and facilitating overall communication with the awardee.

Member Award Categories & Descriptions
NEW! The Legacy of Leadership Award

Created in memory of our late friend and colleague Julie Deppner, this award recognizes individuals who embody the same spirit of leadership-guiding others with integrity, inspiring growth, and uplifting those around them. Recipients of this award continue her legacy by leading with compassion, wisdom, and a deep commitment to service.
The MVP Award

This award is open to any LeadingAge Michigan Member or Business Partner with a track record of at least 15 years of dedicated service, demonstrating their loyalty and a lasting, valuable impact in aging services. They really are the MVP!
The Nominator's Choice Award

This is a flexible category to recognize someone who may not fit into the existing award categories, but still deserves the spotlight. As the nominator, you get to invent a custom title here that celebrates what makes them stand out. Have fun with it, and most importantly, honor someone who truly deserves recognition!

Note that the title is subject to final approval of the Awards Committee.

The Servant's Heart Award

This award spotlights individuals whose compassion, empathy, and unwavering kindness consistently makes a difference.
The Operational Excellence Award

This is an award that recognizes individuals whose behind-the-scenes dedication drives day-to-day success and supports everyone around them. Whether in HR, administration, or an operations-focused role, these individuals are the backbone of the organization. If you know someone who consistently makes things run smoothly without seeking the spotlight, this award is for them!
The Exceptional Leadership Award

This award is dedicated to strong leaders in aging services whose dedication and professionalism elevate the work environment while making a meaningful difference within the larger community.
The Emerging Leader Award

This award honors an individual who is stepping into leadership with vision, passion, and purpose. Though early in their career, they are already influencing positive change, inspiring their peers, and showing clear potential to shape the future of aging services.
The Empowerment Award

An award dedicated to celebrating those who coach, guide, and empower others to reach their fullest potential. If you know of any outstanding coaches or mentors, this one is for them!
Trustee of the Year Award

This award recognizes an individual who has served with distinction on the governing board of a LeadingAge Michigan member organization and made an outstanding contribution to the well-being of seniors, the employees who serve them, and the organization's mission.
Volunteer of the Year Award

An award that recognizes individuals or group volunteers, auxiliaries, or organizations working within a member community who have provided extraordinary service to seniors.

The Mission in Motion Award

This group award celebrates programs or services within the LeadingAge Michigan membership that bring purpose to life in aging services through meaningful action. In short, this initiative is making a real difference!
