A consultation for children and caregivers to have the opportunity to meet with an Occupational Therapist and Speech-Language Pathologist and discuss the child’s strengths and main concern relative to either or both fields. An initial intake would help determine the child’s needs and determine what services are required. If the need is OT/SLP and the child is under 6, an interdisciplinary approach will occur. If the child is over 6, separate OT/SLP will most likely focus on the concerns identified. Families will then be able to have a follow up with each therapist to allow for parent coaching opportunity or to review strategies and home programming recommendations. A clinic note will be mailed to the caregiver upon completion of this clinic along with any home programming ideas/strategies that are recommended.

Concerns related to OT may include the following areas: fine motor skills, visual motor skills (paper and pencil; cutting), self-regulation, self-care skills as well as areas of sensory processing that are affecting the child’s functional skills in their everyday life. Concerns related to SLP may include play & social communication .

Duration: One-hour initial appointment and a follow-up coaching session (length of follow-up to be determined)
