Question Title

* 1. Have you read the Lake Ginninderra Community Path Feasibility Study report?

Question Title

* 2. The report has identified seven corridors which reflect movement zones and path connections across the site. The following questions reference these corridors - we recommend looking at this image closely or having it available to refer to in a separate screen if you are using a desktop.

The report identifies the top three priorities for upgrades:

1. Corridor 1: John Knight Foreshore University of Canberra Connection (yellow). This is from the end of the pedestrian bridge near Lake Ginninderra College up to the east Lake Ginninderra road bridge.

2. Corridor 2: Central Peninsula to Diddams Close playground (green). This is the central peninsular foreshore edge.

3. Corridor 4: Western Foreshore including park and path to Ginninderra Drive (blue). This is the western foreshore of the lake.

Do you agree that these are the priorities for upgrades? If no, what should be the top three priorities for upgrades and why?

Question Title

* 3. For Corridor 1 (John Knight Foreshore University of Canberra Connection), there are two options presented to increase the capacity of the path between Townsend Place and up to the eastern Lake Ginninderra bridge.

Option 1 is to install a new intermediate trunk cycle path on the upper slope and keep the existing path's width as it is.

Option 2 is to widen the existing path to 3-4 metres (the width is dependent on the trees).

Which option do you prefer?

Question Title

* 4. The Ginninderra Drive east bridge (in Corridor 1) has a number of safety issues, including the location of light poles to the centre of the concrete path. The uphill bitumen path connects only onto the raised concrete footpath on the bridge; there is no connection to the cycle lane. A short term option has been presented for the path upgrade to connect to the eastern Lake Ginninderra Drive bridge cycle lane on the road.

Do you support this short term option?

Question Title

* 5. For the same area (Ginninderra Drive east bridge in Corridor 1), a long term option has been presented for a low level pedestrian bridge on the southern side of the eastern Lake Ginninderra bridge. This would provide a connection between the eastern and western foreshore which is 'at grade'; that is, a bridge that would be at a height consistent with the land around it. This would provide for a flatter path, providing an alternative way to cross the lake without having to travel uphill and without having to interact with the road bridge.

Do you support this long term option?

Question Title

* 6. For Corridor 4 (Western Foreshore), there are two options presented to increase the capacity of the path between the Macdermott Place car park and the area near the Scout Hall.

Option 1 is to retain the existing path and to create an intermediate 2.5m trunk path.

Option 2 is to retain and widen the existing path to 3.5m.

Which option do you prefer?
