It's time for Smithies of color in SDS to come together.

I've spoken with many of you and it seems as though most of us have had similar experiences within our time in SDS, but there has never been an opportunity for all of us to come together to share our stories with one another. Creating a safe, supportive environment for students of color in SDS has been long overdue. This is why I'm trying to start the Statistical & Data Sciences Coalition of Color (SDSCC). The goal of SDSCC is twofold: (1) to initiate a network of support for students of color in SDS and (2) foster greater collaboration with the SDS department (and related entities) to ensure POC voices are heard.
