The learning objectives for this session were:
1. Participants will better understand why historic hotels contribute to the success of a historic community and why adaptive use projects are especially successful as hotels.
2. Participants will leave with tangible resources for future reference to save, restore and reopen historic buildings as hotels and learn of assistance which exists to ensure the successful commercial rehabilitation of historic buildings.
3. Participants will better understand how the National Trust's Historic Hotels of America program enhances the viability of historic hotels, increases their odds of survival, and builds incremental awareness of historic destinations.
4. Participants will better understand how they can personally contribute to the continued success of historic communities by supporting Historic Hotels of America and its member hotels.
