Psychosocial Maturity Assessment

This brief maturity assessment has been designed to help us best understand where your organisation is currently placed in managing psychosocial risks. We recognise that each organisation is on a journey and no matter where you sit, we are here to support. We recommend this assessment be undertaken by an employee who has adequate oversight of your organisation’s current and planned psychological health and safety initiatives, such as managing personnel from functions such as People & Culture, Human Resources, Work Health & Safety, Injury Management, and Health, Safety Environment.

The below assessment is a quick 5-to-10-minute questionnaire that will assist us in best understanding your psychosocial risk maturity. Following submission of your Survey you will receive an email from an APS workplace psychologist to discuss the outcomes.
1.Do you have a mental health and wellbeing / psychological health and safety strategy?
2.Have you completed a psychosocial risk assessment?
3.Have you developed and implemented psychosocial risk management plans for your key hazards?
4.Have you implemented policies, procedures, and practices to address psychosocial risks and hazards.
5.Have you mapped key psychosocial risk controls against the employee lifecycle for high-risk job families; e.g., recruitment, onboarding, ongoing controls.
6.Have you defined clear roles and responsibilities for psychosocial risk management across leadership level and specialist roles (e.g., WHS, HR, IM, & ER)?
7.Do your specialist role function (e.g., WHS, HR, IM, ER) have the capability to respond to and manage psychosocial risks in a trauma informed approach?
8.Have your people leaders been upskilled in identifying and controlling psychosocial risks in the workplace?
9.Have you uplifted the capability of your employees to manage exposure to psychosocial hazards; e.g., aggressive customer behaviour, vicarious trauma, or organisational change?
10.Have you implemented training around mental ill-health in the workplace e.g., MHFA, peer support programs, or mental health literacy programs.
11.Have you defined clear escalation pathways to manage individual and team level psychosocial hazards?
12.Have you defined your key organisational metrics to monitor emerging risk and the effectiveness of your organisational controls?
