In 2018, the Accelerate Kootenays network was completed. The program deployed 46 Level 2 and 13 DCFCs in communities across the Kootenays with local governments as the partners. Since 2018 EV ownership by Kootenay residents, and visits to our region by EV tourists, has ballooned! In order to ensure convenient charging options for residents and tourists alike - and with collaborative support again from the Regional Districts of Kootenay Boundary, Central Kootenay and East Kootenay - we are thrilled to launch Accelerate Kootenays 2.0! As part of the Kootenay Clean Energy Transition, this funding program will fill in gaps in our region, improve connectivity and further energize travel to and within the Kootenays.
