Philadelphia City Council’s Streets & Services committee recently passed legislation extending the City’s current program related to sidewalk cafes until December 31, 2022. They also passed amended legislation that would provide a permanent path forward for some streeteries in the city. While there are some streeteries that would still be permissible, there are others in certain areas of the city that would be required to seek Council approval for their outdoor dining structures. The amendments also address the use of the adjacent property for streeteries.
