2019-2020 Lutz Preparatory PTA Committee Chair Interest Survey

The available committee chair positions for the 2019-2020 school year are listed below under the executive committee member responsible. Please select any positions you are interested in volunteering as a Committee Chair for no later than August 1, 2019. Please be sure to include your contact information at the end of the form. If you indicate that you would like to volunteer you will be contacted by a PTA Board Member.

Question Title

* 1. President: Kristin McCormick

Volunteer Coordinator: Works with Board members to send out Sign-Up Genius forms to gather volunteers to help with events throughout the year.

Back To School Supply Kits Coordinator: Organize all aspects of the pre-ordered back to school supply kit project. Inventory kits purchased and distribute at Meet and Greet; Coordinate volunteers for distribution; Coordinate efforts in spring for the following school year.

* 2. VP Ways and Means: Jackie Dreksler

Yearbook Chair: Gathers pictures from events throughout the year, creates yearbook spread, works with yearbook printing company.

Bolts of Blue Team Chair: Works with VP of Ways and Means to organize and work within a team responsible for collecting giveaway items, raffle items, and sponsor donations for the Bolts of Blue Campaign and on-line Auction.

Box Tops Chair: Creates flyers, promotes box tops collections in the fall and spring, collects, counts, and sends box tops in. Will create rewards for top classes, etc.

* 3. Treasurer: Holly Gordon

Audit Chair: Responsible for regular auditing of the PTA finance information.

* 4. Corresponding Secretary: Stefanie Alt

Room Parent Chair: Keep all room parents informed about activities and programs occurring in the PTA, including holding meetings, putting together folders of information and communicating via email.

Grandparents Celebration Chair: Coordinates evening event in conjunction with school conference night to welcome all grandparents. Will need to make a flyer, organize food, solicit local businesses for donations, gather decorations, organize volunteers, set up and clean up. Works closely with Corresponding Secretary.

Faculty/Staff Appreciation Chair: Organize a week-long event of activities to show appreciation for the faculty and staff. In addition will coordinate and plan various events such as ice cream bar, holiday lunch, healthy heart lunch, FSA/I-Ready testing treats for the teachers involved, throughout the year. Also coordinates teachers birthday door decoration.

* 5. VP Pre-Prep: Allison Brock

Pre-Prep Field Day Chair: Oversees and coordinates a field day for Pre-Prep.

Pre-Prep Family Events Chair: Oversees programs such as Muffins for Moms, Donuts for Dads, etc.

Pre-Prep Monthly Theme Chair: Works with VP and Director of Pre-Prep to coordinate and carry out the monthly themes for Pre-Prep.

Academics Chair: Oversee programs such as Science Night, Math Night, etc for Pre-Prep

Pre-Prep Yearbook Chair: Gathers pictures from Pre-Prep events throughout the year, creates yearbook spread, works in conjunction with K-8 Yearbook chair and Director of Pre-Prep and with yearbook printing company.

* 6. VP of Elementary: Tera Cox

Red Ribbon Week / Health and Safety Chair: Coordinate program to promote the values and goals of National Red Ribbon week, using appropriate teaching materials for each of Pre-Prep, Elementary and Middle School. Oversees programs that promote well-being, health, and safety. This may include Fire Safety, Internet Safety, Stranger Danger, etc.

Field Day Chair: oversees and coordinates with the PE coach a field day for K-4th

Great American Teach-In Chair: Coordinates volunteers to teach classes for Pre-Prep, elementary and middle school.

Spirit Week Chair: Work with VP to create a list of spirit events and pep rally, creates flyer, etc for Pre-Prep, Elementary and Middle School.

Mother/Son Event Chair: Organizes and gathers volunteers to plan and execute mother/son event.

Father/Daughter Dance Chair: Organizes and gathers volunteers to plan and execute father/daughter dance.

Fall Event Chair: Organize and coordinate fall festival related activities at the Trunk or Treat event on October 26, 2019.

* 8. VP School Support: Pilar Topping

Back to School Chair: Coordinates a luncheon for the teachers for back to school, helps set up/clean up and organize the PTA table at the back to school day.

SMATH Night Chair: Coordinate with math and science teachers and volunteers to organize a math and science themed family event with activities,

Community Outreach Chair: Oversees 1-2 programs such as Toys for Tots Drive, Pajama Drive, etc. to benefit local charities.

Reflections Chair: Organize the participation in the National PTA cultural arts program. Duties include presenting information to students and parents, collecting entries, recruiting local community members to judge entries and complete all paperwork.

Junior Achievement Chair: Coordinate the implementation of Junior Achievement, including scheduling JA mentors and training volunteers.

Safety Patrol Picnic Chair: Coordinates an end of the year picnic/party for the safety patrol.

Citizen of the Month Chair: Coordinates monthly student of the month program with administration.
