Survey on Government proposals on benefits reform
Introduction
Help us find out how the Government's proposed benefits reforms will affect you. We would very much appreciate it if you could complete this survey and share your views with us. This will help us to respond to the Government’s ‘Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working' Green Paper consultation and to campaign for better outcomes for unpaid carers and disabled people.
Carers UK is gathering evidence from unpaid carers, and organisations supporting carers, about the impact of the Government’s plans to reform the benefits system. We have looked at the proposals in detail and published a policy briefing to help people understand what impact these changes might have. It is important to note that these changes will not take effect immediately.
While we agree that the benefit system is not fit for purpose and long overdue for reform, and that there are some positive measures within the Green Paper, we are concerned that the plans the Government has set out will have a very significant and negative impact on unpaid carers, disabled people and their families if implemented in full.
We want our detailed response to Government to reflect the views and experiences of unpaid carers and we will be campaigning for change.
No personal details from this will be shared at any point. You are welcome to submit your evidence to us anonymously. Should you have any questions about this survey, please get in touch with us at policy@carersuk.org
