During the Five-Year Standards Review, it was determined that although Standard 4's unifying theme is using a quality improvement process to improve outcome measures, two different types of measures are identified in the Standard, which could lead to a lack of clarity. The proposed standards break the current Standard 4 into two separate standards. The proposed new Standard 4 addresses using a quality improvement process to ensure that programs meet the CAATE-defined student achievement measures. The proposed new Standard 5 addresses using a quality improvement process to work towards aspirational goals and address identified deficiencies in program effectiveness.
The CAATE is seeking public input on proposed revisions to Standard 4 (These revisions would split the current Standard 4 into Standard 4 and Standard 5). Only the standard(s) being suggested for revision are included in this survey. We invite you to participate in this open comment period, as your feedback is essential to ensure the standards effectively support athletic training programs and the mission of the CAATE.
The open comment period starts on August 20, 2025, and closes on September 10, 2025.
