Call for 2027 ABA Annual Meeting Abstract Reviewers, Award Paper Reviewers, and Session Moderators

In preparation for the 2027 ABA Annual Meeting, we are looking for Abstract Reviewers, Award Paper Reviewers, and Session Moderators.

11.Abstract Reviewers

Abstract reviewers review and score the abstracts submitted for the 2027 ABA Annual Meeting.

Requirements:
  • Have been engaged in burn clinical care and/or related research for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Have consistent participation in peer reviewed research, abstract presentations, or previous review activities.
  • Are available to review abstracts Oct. 7-28.
  • Have time to review and score 25-50 abstracts based on criteria specified in the review platform.
Reviewers must complete a disclosure and may not be an owner of, or employed by, an ACCME-defined ineligible company.

Reviewers will recuse themselves from scoring any abstracts in which:
  • They are the primary author or co-author.
  • They know were submitted from their department or institution.
  • There is a conflict of interest that could influence scoring.

12.Research Paper Awards Reviewers
Research Paper Awards Reviewers evaluate submissions to determine the highest-quality research and outstanding scientific contributions for the ABA’s prestigious named awards.

Requirements: 
  • Approximately 3 weeks to complete evaluations, spanning from mid-February to early March.
  • Dedicated review of 3 to 5 assigned papers.

13.Poster Moderators

Poster moderators review and score posters presented at the 2027 ABA Annual Meeting.

Requirements:
  • Attend the 2027 Annual Meeting and the poster sessions on Wednesday, April 14 and/or Thursday, April 15 from 12:30-1:30 PM.
  • Prior to the session, read each abstract in the Annual Meeting App and prepare one or two questions to ask the presenter.
  • Listen to the poster presentations and ask each author one or two questions.
  • Score assigned posters based on a rubric.

14.Correlative Moderators

Correlative moderators introduce and facilitate Q&A for the different oral presentations at the 2027 ABA Annual Meeting. Requirements:
  • Attend the 2027 Annual Meeting and your assigned correlative sessions on Wednesday, April 14, Thursday, April 15, and/or Friday, April 16.
  • Prior to the session, read each abstract in the Annual Meeting App and prepare one or two questions to ask the presenter.
  • Listen to the oral presentations and ask each author one or two questions.
