Hinds County School District COVID19 Returning to School Parent Survey
Dear Parents/Guardians: The Mississippi Department of Education has given flexibility with our scheduling so that we can comply with the Department of Health and the CDC guidelines for managing the COVID-19 outbreak. We have three scheduling options and are requesting your input as we move forward. THANK YOU for taking the 2-3 minutes required to complete this survey. Your views are valued as we move forward to re-imagine teaching and learning in the Hinds County School District.
Please note the following steps we are taking to ensure the safety of your students and staff:
Temperature screening for staff daily
Temperature screening for students daily
Requirement for teachers/staff to wear a mask/face-covering
Requirement for students to wear a mask/face-covering
Staff are trained on CDC guidance to reduce likelihood of COVID-19 transmission
Strict social distancing in hallways and common areas
Seating in the cafeteria to allow for social distancing with food being individually served or serving students in their classrooms
Hand sanitizer will be provided and frequently used in each classroom
Regularly scheduled handwashing for all students and staff
Enhanced nightly cleaning in all schools
Running buses at reduced capacity
Students stay in the same classroom and teachers rotate to classes as much as possible
