* 1. Every child in Ohio deserves a safe classroom free of obscenity. Providing sexually explicit materials in schools desensitizes children to sexual ideas, conversations, and conduct. Sexually explicit materials should never be found in school curriculum and children should not be taught to negotiate sexual encounters or how to ask for or get “consent” from other children to engage in sexual acts. Ohio law requires that curriculum should stress that students should abstain from sexual activity until after marriage and should emphasize adoption as an option for unintended pregnancies.
