El Dorado County Veterans Monument Criteria for Military Honoraria Survey

The El Dorado County (EDC) Veterans Monument was established to recognize and honor military veterans.

The EDC Veteran Services office is seeking input from the public regarding the criteria and process for placing military honoraria (such as memorial bricks, stones, and plaques that recognize veterans) at the Veterans Monument. Proposed updates to the County’s current criteria for the placement of honoraria can be found at El Dorado County - Veteran Services. You are encouraged to review the “El Dorado County Veterans Monument Criteria for Military Honoraria and Civilian Recognition” document prior to completing this survey.

3.Which criteria do you believe should determine the eligibility of veterans for inclusion in the El Dorado County Veterans Monument?(Required.)

All veterans from the United States

Only veterans who live or have lived in El Dorado County

Veterans who live or have lived in El Dorado County AND veterans with a friend or family member who is a current or former El Dorado County resident.

4.What should qualify a veteran to receive a plaque on the monument’s honor wall or elsewhere on the Veterans Monument grounds?(Required.)

Medal of Honor recipient and Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, and Cross recipients as outlined in DoD Manual 1348.33 Vol. 1 only.

Current criteria language of: Medals of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Air Force Cross or any person or unit who, while serving with the military distinguishes himself/herself in action by extraordinary heroism.
