SCI Members willingly give their time and energy to drive change and deliver new initiatives for SCI often working in teams to deliver key projects for SCI.
The project and Team must demonstrate an exceptional piece of work that has shown exemplary behaviours and driven innovative change, impact, reputational enhancement or outreach for SCI.
Recipients of the Exceptional Team Award will receive their acknowledgment and certificate at the Annual General Meeting and include an interview for publication and a reward dinner paid for by SCI. The award will recognise each and every individual who contributed to advance the project.
Nominators are asked to identify the activity that nominees have carried out and to provide details of the time period which this activity spans. Activity may be related to Committee Service, working with SCI publications, or any other area that has directly contributed to SCI growth or impact. Nominators will be required to demonstrate the importance of the activities nominees undertook and to outline how they were successful.
Nominated by: Teams, working groups, any SCI member, or SCI staff member may make a nomination. Members of the Board, major committees and Groups are particularly invited to do so. Nominees should not be informed that they are being nominated, the process should remain confidential.
All nominations require a seconder to support the submission.
SCI e-members are not eligible to be nominated, nor to make a nomination, for the Exceptional Service Award.
Eligibility: The Exceptional Team Award will be considered by Membership committee and the Board of Trustees covering:
• An outline of the project- reviewing the project itself and the outcome.
• The Team and their involvement.
• The impact and significance of the project.
Application: Nominations can be made via completion of this online application form. All submissions will require support of a seconder, nominators should detail the achievements of their nominees in no more than 500 words.
Description of Award: Certificate and complimentary dinner.
Presented at: SCI AGM or other suitable occasion
Frequency: Annual. Normally, a maximum of three Exceptional Team Awards are presented in any one year.
Nominations Open: 1 September 2025
Nomination Deadline: 5pm 31 March 2026
Nominators and successful nominees are informed of the decision by May following the nomination assessment.
Selected by: Nominations will be reviewed by members of SCI's Membership committee and approved by the Board of Trustees.
