Cultural competency refers to the ability to understand, communicate, and effectively interact with people of different cultural backgrounds. Benefits of this type if training include: better retention rates, better team dynamics, and less misunderstanding and miscommunication based on cultural differences. 
At ISSofBC we want to be ready to support our employer partners with the training and tools necessary to ease the transition for newcomers entering the workforce. As such, we are conducting market research to determine the need for customized cultural competency training.
