CEI Brazil October 2026 Pre-Trip Survey

Camp Education International (CEI) is preparing for one-day professional development symposiums in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in October 2026, focused on Camp Education in the context of elite secondary schools.

SECTION 6: Camp Education Readiness
Before continuing, a brief note on Camp Education:

In this survey, Camp Education refers to a developmental approach that uses experience, community, challenge, play, and reflection to help students build capacities that are difficult to develop through academics alone. Camp Education can happen at summer camps, but it can also inform school-based experiences such as advisory, student leadership, retreats, clubs, athletics, service learning, outdoor education, parent education, and college readiness work.

CEI organizes Camp Education through eight developmental domains: Leadership & Personal Development; Social Emotional Learning (SEL); Practical Skill Development; Outdoor Education & Environmental Stewardship; Creativity & Innovation; Physical Education & Adventure; Health & Mindfulness; and Global Citizenship.

As you answer the questions that follow, please think broadly about where students at your school already gain independence, resilience, confidence, communication skills, leadership, purpose, and real-world readiness — and where those experiences could become more intentional.
