The drug you are/were taking for MS, Rituxan (Rituximab), works by lowering the number of certain white blood cells in your immunity called B-cells.
There is strong evidence that shows that the B-cell numbers are lowered for durations longer than 6 months (7 to 26 months which differs from person to person), which means you may not need to take Rituxan at a fixed 6-month schedule as long as we monitor you B-cells to make sure they are still low.
