Creating A College-Going Culture
Carol Dahir, Ed.D., Professor and Chair, School Counseling Department, NYIT

School and college counselors recognize the importance of creating a school-wide, college- and career-going culture for elementary, middle and/or high school. This session will address how to challenge mindsets and beliefs about students; the importance of becoming aware of student development; involving faculty in asset mapping; and how to help students acquire resiliency and self-reliance.

This webinar series is supported, in part, with a federal GEAR UP grant awarded to Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (cIcu) by the Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC), the state agency designated to administer the state’s NYGEAR UP grant.
