Welcome to the Goldfields Connect Feasibility Study which is exploring the potential for a community hub for Maryborough and across Central Goldfields.
We're at the exciting stage of figuring out what kind of Hub will best serve everyone. This could be a physical space, a network of support, online tools, or most likely, a mix of several ideas. Your answers will help us design the functions and services that will make the biggest difference, before we decide on the final 'shape' it will take.
This project follows a series of forums, starting in August 2023 (Community Forum) and culminating in 2026 (FRRR initiative), by representatives of not-for-profit (NFP) organisations, community groups, and other key stakeholders connected to the Maryborough region’s active NFP sector.
These consultations highlighted the potential for a community hub to realise our vision for the community’s future.
Our first step is a feasibility study to better understand the complexities and considerations of establishing such a Hub/Centre in Central Goldfields, Maryborough. This will include this survey as well as face to face interviews.
We want to know how a local community hub could meet the needs of you and your organisation (not-for-profit, volunteer) and how could you be part of it. Your knowledge and understanding of the local area will guide the development of a model.
Your input is essential for us to find a model that suits this community.
Please enjoy exploring and answering the questions. If you feel unable to answer any question then you can skip it. If you are responding for more than one organisation then please complete the survey separately for each organisation.
This project study is being managed by the Maryborough Volunteer Resource Group and is funded and supported by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
