Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve as the Young Professional (YP) Board Representative for SWANA. This appointment will fill a one-year vacancy, with the individual eligible to run for re-election during the next election cycle.
This role provides a meaningful opportunity to represent the voice of early-career professionals, contribute to Board discussions, and support SWANA’s ongoing growth and evolution. The YP Board Representative plays an important role in bringing forward perspectives, ideas, and priorities that strengthen engagement and leadership development within the Young Professionals community.

Eligibility & Requirements:
- Must be a current SWANA member in good standing
- Must be age 35 or under for the full term of this role, in accordance with SWANA Young Professional (YP) criteria
- Must be able to serve the full term (approximately 1 year)
- Must be available to attend and actively participate in required meetings
- Demonstrated involvement in SWANA (e.g., chapter activities, events, or committees) preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and strong communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment
- Ability to represent SWANA professionally and act in the best interest of the organization
- Lead the SWANA Young Professional Sterring Committee
- Willingness to contribute time and actively engage in YP and Board-related initiatives
- Employer letter of support acknowledging the candidate's commitment to attend/fund officer and board meetings (virtual and in-person), attend the SWANA annual conference, and the time needed to fulfill the duties.
