The City of Los Altos is updating its objective design standards (ODS), the measurable design requirements that apply to housing, commercial, and mixed-use projects reviewed under state streamlining law. The standards were adopted in 2021, and the City wants to know how they are working in practice before revising them. The current standards are available on the City's Planning page at https://www.losaltosca.gov/217/Planning.
You are receiving this survey because you have worked on a project in Los Altos. Your answers will be reported in aggregate and without attribution. Candid answers about what did and did not work are the most useful ones.
The survey covers what has been difficult to comply with, what you would design to instead, and which standards you consider workable as written. It takes about 10 minutes, or fewer if your projects did not seek relief from any standard.
