Building your business requires good education and marketing to real estate professionals and the general public. When you become a member of Golden Gate ASHI, you save money on education, become more visible to the real estate community, and improve your proficiency as a professional inspector.

The primary marketing goal of Golden Gate ASHI is to make Bay Area real estate professionals automatically think of our members when choosing a home inspector. We have exciting public relations efforts underway, and are currently developing cooperative relationships with organizations such as Westcon, East Bay AIA, and Build It Green.

Annual dues for 2017-2018 are $165.

Listing on the Chapter website, www.ggashi.com. Chapter members who are ASHI Certified Inspectors (ACI) will be included on all county listing pages of their choice. Chapter members who are ASHI Inspectors will be listed on a single county page of their choice.  [If you do not provide this information, you will NOT be listed on the chapter website.]  ASHI Associates, GGASHI Fellows, and Retired ASHI Members are not eligible for website listing at this time.

Please NOTE: Annual Local Chapter Dues are in addition to the National ASHI® dues, billed separately by the national offices. Local dues are designed to allow more local representation and local member support services.

ASHI Certified Inspectors— Inspectors in this category have:
* Passed the National Home Inspector Examination and ASHI's Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics module.
* Had inspection reports successfully verified for compliance with ASHI's Standard of Practice.
* Have submitted a valid list of performance of at least 250 fee-paid home inspections that meet or exceed the ASHI Standard of Practice.
* Have returned an authorized notarized affidavit to ASHI validating at least 250 inspections. 
* Must agree to follow the ASHI Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics.
* Each year, the inspector is required to complete 20 hours of continuing education.

ASHI Inspector— Inspectors in this category have:
* Passed the National Home Inspector Examination or Valid State Exam approved by the Membership Committee and ASHI's Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics module.
* Had inspection reports successfully verified for compliance with ASHI's Standard of Practice.
* Have submitted a valid list of performance of at least 75 fee-paid home inspections that meet or exceed the ASHI Standard of Practice. 
* Have returned an authorized notarized affidavit to ASHI validating at least 75 inspections.
* Must agree to follow the ASHI Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics.
* Each year, the inspector is required to complete 20 hours of continuing education.

ASHI Associates— Inspectors in this category have:
* Just joined ASHI and may be new to the inspection profession or may be a seasoned inspector who has not yet completed ASHI's requirements to move up in membership.
* Have passed the ASHI's Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics module.
* Must agree to follow the ASHI Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics.
* Each year, the inspector is required to complete 20 hours of continuing education.

GGASHI Affiliates -- do  NOT belong to ASHI, but have related interests. Affiliates may claim discounted rates offered to chapter members for chapter events. Becoming a Chapter Affiliate does not establish nor constitute any relationship with ASHI® National. Affiliate membership does not guarantee participation in some aspects of chapter membership, which are by invitation only and must be approved by the GGASHI Board of Directors.

GGASHI Fellows -- were members of the GGASHI Chapter for at least 10 years, have retired from the home inspection profession, and want to maintain contact with the chapter WITHOUT voting benefits.  GGASHI Fellows must submit a form annually, but do not pay dues.

ASHI Members Retired -- have retired from the home inspection profession, but want to continue to participate in chapter affairs including keeping voting privileges.  ASHI Members Retired pay chapter dues.
