DESCRIPTION:Participants are invited to attend this painting workshop, where they will learn how to slow down, regulate their nervous system and reconnect with their themselves through painting.
In this workshop, participants will:
- Participate in a grounding exercise to slow and clam down the nervous system;
- Engage in breathing exercise to build a sense of safety and awareness;
- Be invited to paint from their present moment, expressing themselves authentically without judgement;
- Participate in an opening and closing sharing circle; and,
- Experience art through in a safe space to feel, express and reset.
No art or writing experience is needed! However, spaces are limited.
This workshop will be facilitated by Rinat Moshe-Solnik from Paint Align and taking place at 222 Dixon Road, Suite 207, Etobicoke Ontario M9P 2S5.
Eligibility criteria:
• Newcomer women, girls and gender diverse people
Ages 13+
• Permanent Residents*, Protected Persons, Convention Refugees and Live-in Caregivers (with work permit)
• Temporary Residents from Gaza and their dependents
• Economic Class Immigrants who have been in Canada for less than 6 years (including their spouses/partners and dependents)
