Welcome to the online survey for the River Region Trails Master Plan. The Master Plan seeks to create a connected trail & greenway network within Montgomery to connect residents and visitors to destinations and everyday needs.
According to the Trails and Greenways Clearinghouse,"Greenways are corridors of protected open space managed for conservation and recreation purposes. Greenways often follow natural land or water features, and link nature reserves, parks, cultural features, and historic sites with each other and with populated areas. Trails are paths used for walking, bicycling, or other forms of recreation or transportation and can be the core elements of greenways."
Trails and greenways make communities better places to live by preserving and creating open spaces, providing safe places to walk and bike to destinations, encouraging physical fitness and healthy lifestyles, creating new opportunities for outdoor recreation and non-motorized transportation, strengthening local economies, protecting the environment, and preserving culturally and historically valuable areas.
