Welcome to the Illinois FirstNet Team Data Collection Initiative

Dear Emergency Responder,

As you may know, FirstNet is responsible for the design, construction, and ongoing operation of the nationwide broadband data network dedicated for the exclusive use of Public Safety. This network could replace your wireless Data services you are using today. More information on the FirstNet initiative can be found here www.FirstNet.Illinois.gov. The ITTF Public Safety Broadband Working Group is in need of collecting data to help profile how people are using cellular and data devices (mobile data terminals, laptops, tablets). The information will only be used by the Illinois team to help FirstNet determine how to build out the network in various areas across the state.   Target audience for the survey are communications and operations personnel from varying disciplines (Police, Fire, EMS, EMA, Public Health, Public Works, etc.). Please assist us in getting information to represent your disciplines needs.

Information we are collecting includes

Contact Info - in case we have questions
Number of responders
Number of vehicles
Number of Cellular-type devices (Laptops, tablets, mobile data terminals, smartphones)
How you use data devices today, how you might use them tomorrow.

The more knowledgeable all public safety entities within the state become of their own needs, the better the state can guide FirstNet as it designs the network.  Your participation will help guide both the state and FirstNet in meeting the needs of public safety users as this important public safety project moves forward. In the future, public safety will have purpose-built applications and a new ecosystem that will provide public safety entities with incredible opportunities to improve service to their communities.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more please do not hesitate to contact me.
