1.What role are you applying for?(Required.)
2.What is your age?

We ask this question because there are age groups underrepresented in our workforce, volunteers and trustees and we want to understand how we create opportunities for these groups.
(Required.)
3.Do you identify as D/deaf or disabled or having a long-term health condition?

The Equality Act defines a disabled person as someone who has a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on their ability to perform normal day-to-day activities. It also covers people who have been diagnosed with HIV, cancer or multiple sclerosis. (Definitions: ‘substantial’ means more than minor or trivial; ‘long-term’ means that the effect of the impairment has lasted, or is likely to last, for at least 12 months; ‘normal day-to-day activities’ include everyday things like eating, washing, walking and going shopping.’)

We ask this question because disabled people and people with long-term health conditions experience high rates of unemployment and we want to understand how we can create more opportunities for them among our workforce, Youth Panel, volunteers and trustees.
(Required.)
4.Do you identify as neurodivergent?

We ask this question because neurodivergent people experience barriers to unemployment and we want to understand how we can create more opportunities for them among our workforce, Youth Panel, volunteers and trustees.
(Required.)
5.What is your ethnicity?

We ask this question because we want our workforce to be more representative of the ethnic make up of the UK population and to address underrepresentation of many ethnic groups in our workforce, Youth Panel, volunteers and trustees.
(Required.)
6.How would you describe your gender identity?

We ask this question because research shows that more than 50% of trans and non-binary people have hidden or disguised being LGBTQ+ in the workplace for fear of discrimination and we want to create a better workplace environment for them.
(Required.)
7.Do you identify as trans?(Required.)
8.What is your sexual orientation?

We ask this question because research shows that LGBTQ+ people still face workplace discrimination and we want to understand how we can improve the workplace environment for them.
(Required.)
9.What is your socio-economic background?

We ask this question because people from working class backgrounds are underrepresented in the museum and heritage workforce and we want to understand how we can increase opportunities for people from this background.
