Astronomy Australia Ltd (AAL) has invested $0.8M towards the establishment of the Optical Data Centre (ODC) over the last two financial years (FY19/20 and FY20/21). The ODC will provide an optical data ecosystem that brings together Australia’s two key optical/infrared data repositories – Data Central (AAO Macquarie) and SkyMapper (RSAA ANU) into one system. The over-arching goal of the ODC is to make all optical and infrared surveys, conducted using the many different Australian facilities, publicly available. This will maximise the scientific return on the substantial public investment that has been, and will continue to be, made in facilities such as the Anglo-Australian Telescope and SkyMapper.

AAL would like to take this opportunity to collate feedback on the ODC project.  Your feedback will not only help AAL to streamline future investment, but also help ODC to optimise its services.

Please note: this is an anonymous survey and should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.
