20th Anniversary Founder's Scholarship
About This scholarship honors Medidata’s 20th year anniversary as a leader in the technology space in the life science industry. In honor of our two Co-Founders who have been at the helm since the beginning of the company, we want to pay it forward to future leaders with a scholarship in the amount of $20,000. This award is presented in their honor for the dedication and contributions to helping the world find smarter treatments for patients faster.
At Medidata, we believe the future of our industry lives in the minds of our youth therefore, we invest in STEM education with a goal to impact 15,000 students in 5 years. This scholarship supports students that promote a diversity of thought and leadership. Medidata will consider the extra curricular activities that the student is participating in and preference will be given to students who can prove that they have had an impact in their communities through charitable work.
Medidata awards tuition scholarships to encourage students to further their learnings in Computer Science and related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines.
Eligible Students This scholarship is open to college Sophomore and Juniors who are currently enrolled in an accredited four year college or University located in the 50 United States, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico. Students must be between the ages of 16-22 years.
Students must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher
Are U.S Citizens, U.S permanent residents (holders of a Permanent resident card), or are individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program (DACA)
Student must be a full time student that is attending a four year public and/or state college. Will be entering into their junior or senior year and are within two years of earning a B.S. or a B.A in a math, science, or technology degree, including life science and science education by the time the award is received.
Be studying to obtain their first bachelor’s degree
Have completed at least 48 credit hours
Age: 16-22 years of age
Students must be a first generation college student
Financial eligibility: Students must demonstrate financial need through a written statement
Applicants May Not Be
Children or relatives of Medidata employees or Board of Directors.
International students attending University on a conditional visa
Note- Medidata employees and their immediate family are not eligible to apply
Strong Applications Would
Demonstrate a desire to positively impact society in their future career and current community impact initiatives.
Plan to enter into a STEM career that will create sustainable solutions for the future.
Provide evidence that they are hardworking and have overcome obstacles.
Scholarship Details The deadline to submit the scholarship application is December 31, 2019 and the winner will be selected by March 1, 2020.
The student selected for the scholarship will automatically receive an internship which includes housing costs at our Headquarters in NYC in Summer 2020.
