The York County Transportation Safety Commission is seeking input from York County residents on transportation safety in the County.  Your answers to this short survey are appreciated.

* 1. As a motor vehicle operator, what do you feel are the three (3) most dangerous intersections (where you have to be the most careful) in the County?

* 2. As a motor vehicle operator, what are the three (3) roadway segments you find the most dangerous (where you have to be the most careful) in the County?

* 3. As a motor vehicle operator, list up to three (3) locations where you would like to see improvements made and what those improvements are (e.g., add a left turn lane, change a YIELD sign to STOP sign, etc.). Please be specific.

* 4. As a bicyclist, list up to three (3) specific locations in the roadway environment where you feel unsafe/less safe riding a bicycle.

* 5. As a bicyclist, list up to three (3) locations where you would like to see improvements made for bicyclists and what those improvements are (e.g., add bike lanes, widen the roadway shoulders, etc.). Please be specific.

* 6. As a pedestrian, list up to three (3) specific locations where you feel unsafe/less safe walking in the roadway environment.

* 7. As a pedestrian, list up to three (3) locations where you would like to see improvements made for pedestrians and what those improvements are (e.g., build a sidewalk, provide a crosswalk, etc.). Please be specific.

* 8. Based on your experience as a boat operator (motor, sail, paddle, etc.) on York County’s waterways, list up to three (3) safety concerns you have about boating in York County.

* 9. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) owns, operates, and maintains most of the roadways within the County.  On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being poor and 10 being excellent, how well do you feel VDOT keeps the roadways in the County safe?

* 10. As a resident of York County, what do you believe should be the main focus of the Transportation Safety Commission?

* 11. The Commission is planning to hold a Community Forum in Yorktown at York Hall on Thursday, October 26 at 6:30 PM to receive input from citizens on transportation safety in the County.  Would you consider attending?
