A committee comprised of representatives from Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools, Good Spirit School Division, Christ the Teacher Teachers' Association, and Good Spirit Teachers' Association met to develop draft calendar options for the 2026-2027 school year. Please review the calendar drafts and provide your feedback by Monday, January 26, 2026. Following this online survey, the committee will reconvene to review the results and present it to their respective Boards of Education.
Defined Requirements:
The Saskatchewan Education Act requires the following:
- A minimum of 950 hours of instructional time for grades 1-12 students.
- In accordance with subsection 163(5) of The Education Act, 1995, the first instructional day for all schools across the province is set for either September 2, 2026 or September 3, 2026. Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools and Good Spirit School Division have determined that the first instructional day for students in these divisions will be September 2, 2026.
- Six weeks of summer vacation.
- Christmas break that begins no later than December 23 and ends not sooner than January 2.
- A Spring break with no more than 5 consecutive days.

- Both calendar options consist of 197 total days, of which 184 are student instructional days.
- Instructional days are 310 minutes of instruction per day.
- As in the past, schools will have the opportunity to work with their local school communities to determine specific Student-Led Conference times and formats.
- Both calendar options retain the February Break and Easter Break.
