Ngā Maia Māori Midwives Aotearoa are exploring our current mātauranga with the plan to establish an Indigenous Māori birthing database / platform that supports the aspirations of our whānau and birthing practitioners. This survey is anonymous and does not intend to identify participants in any way. The writer recognizes that we are all on a journey of discovery / rediscovery and that all knowledge is valuable.
As part of this survey, we hope to learn about the knowledge you have on indigenous birthing practices, what practices would you like to have, and where do you think is the right place to learn those practices.
Potentially it is anticipated that you may be able to seek and discover the mātauranga of your own iwi, hapū, clan, tribe, island, ethnicity, roopu - who should hold the knowledge / mātauranga of different iwi / roopu.
