Assistant Junior Football Operations Coordinator

The Regional Admin Assistant plays an important role to support the AFL Goulburn Murray Operations team in the administration requirements of the Regional Administration Centre (RAC).
 
The newly created position aims to provide administrative support to the Operations Team of the affiliated leagues and competitions under the RAC, namely Goulburn Valley League (GVL), Kyabram District Football League, Northern Country Women’s, Goulburn Murray Junior League.  
 
This is a casual position in recognition of the seasonal nature of the sports industry, working arrangements must be flexible to meet the needs of the RAC and our stakeholders.  Hours of work can include evenings and weekends, particularly during the season.
 
This role presents a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the success of Australian Rules football and netball in regional communities.
Job Profile

Assist and support the AFL Goulburn Murray RAC with the following;
 
Competition Administration

Assist with the management of football and netball competitions under the RAC in line with Competition Rules and By-Laws including but not limited to;

  • AFL GM Junior By-Laws
  • Senior League By-Laws and AFL Vic Country and AFL Rules
  • Administer the PlayHq competition and member database system
  • Maintain match results and records including, scores, ladders, team lists and fixtures, player tribunal records
  • Assist the Operations team with stakeholder enquiries regarding the RAC Competitions, Disciplinary Regulations and process.
  • Coordinate incident reports and apply the relevant disciplinary outcomes.
  • Draft and issue all notices related to the disciplinary process.
  • Assist with the competition audit of awards, trophies, and presentations
Regional Development Programs
  • Assist with the administration of Regional and League Development Academies as required.
Other
  • Be actively involved in formulating and reviewing the processes and practices of AFL GM Operations Department and RAC partner Leagues
  • Ensure accurate agenda and document distribution and minute taking for all GVL Club and Executive meetings
General
  • Always represent the best interests of football and netball with professionalism and integrity
  • Maintain open communication channels with all internal and external stakeholders including League Executive members, clubs, staff and Commission
  • Seek to leverage other opportunities for the benefit of partner Leagues and AFL Goulburn Murray
Key Selection Criteria 

Mandatory
  • Proven ability to show initiative, plan and set priorities
  • Experience in building relationships and working with volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High level interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and a capacity for lateral thinking and the use of innovative practices to solve the challenges within this role.
  • Sound knowledge of the football and or netball industry.
  • Experience in stakeholder relationship building involving local sporting clubs, community
  • Leagues, business, government, or community groups.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends and to work well in an autonomous environment.
  • Current driver's license is essential
Desirable
  • Computer literacy to a high level, include Word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft applications, Quark Express, Website Editing and data entry skill.
This is a Casual position 3-days per week in season.
