We need your feedback as we make our business plan.

We still don't know when we can begin to offer programming again, but we would really like your help while we consider all the ways we will work to keep audiences, as well as staff and volunteers, safe.

Help us by answering a few questions while keeping these things in mind:

  • We are in the process of researching the air flow in the building and will be doing all we can to improve it, which may mean an entirely new system.  We are prioritizing this in order to keep audiences and actors as safe as we possibly can.  We will complete this work before we hold indoor events.
  • We are also working on changing up our audience seating arrangement in order to adhere to social distancing and make it easier to sanitize the seating area after performances.

Question Title

* 1. Once our industry is given the green light and guidelines to open live theaters again, how long will you wait before attending?

Question Title

* 2. How likely are you to attend a live theater performance INSIDE The Merc with 50%, or less, audience capacity, social distancing measures, and masks required of audience members?

I would definitely attend! I'm not sure I feel comfortable attending. I would absolutely not attend!

Question Title

* 4. Will the amount of time a production lasts affect your decision to attend a show?

Doesn't matter to me - 1 hour, 2 hours, it's all the same, I'm coming as long as guidelines are in place. Keep it to 60 minutes with all other guidelines in place, and I'm there. I'm not attending no matter how long or short it is.

Question Title

* 5. Historical numbers before Covid show that our at-the-door ticket sales option is preferred by many of our audience members.  Knowing we will always provide refunds, will being required to purchase tickets in advance, either on line or over the phone, affect your decision to come to the theater?

I am happy to buy tickets in advance.  It won't keep me from attending. I'm not sure.  I might still attend.  I might not. I won't come to the theater until at-the-door sales return.

Question Title

* 6. Reader's Theater is a logical starting place when we are able to re-open for a number of reasons (no onstage "blocking," social distancing of the cast is easier, no reason for actors to be backstage, shorter rehearsal process, etc...).  Are you interested in purchasing tickets to see this style of live performing?

I loved Reader's Theater before COVID, I will definitely return for this type of show. I'm not sure if I would come to RT or not. I have no interest in Reader's Theater and will not attend.
