AFLGM Female Participation Advocate

The Australian Football League (AFL) is the pre-eminent professional sporting organisation in Australia.
 
Through the AFL Commission, the AFL serves as the sport's governing body and is also responsible for
growing and developing the game at the grassroots.
 
The AFL has a long and rich history within the Australian Community but is also committed to continuing
to drive ongoing change to ensure it remains the number one sports and entertainment organisation in
Australia.

Position Overview

The Female Advocate is primarily responsible for creating and leading the growth of female participation in the Goulburn Murray Region and complementing participation programs delivered more broadly.
 
The Female Advocate shall navigator the regions strategic direction, communicating broadly as the face of the Female Football in the Region, motivating, and mentoring key stakeholder groups and individuals to stay or become involved in female football programs.

Job Profile

  • Identify Female Team opportunities in clubs
  • Identify Female competitions in Regions/Leagues
  • Run Female programs in support of PC in the Region
  • Identify potential female coaches in Regions/Leagues
  • Support Club committees in having a female focus on participation
  • Promote Female Committee members/appointments
  • Run education programs to clubs on "Female Blueprint" for clubs
  • Support leagues/regions with female competition sponsorship opportunities as the advocate
  • Promote Club Help + Coach.afl for clubs in supporting female football participation
  • Promote Female football in media opportunities for league/region
  • Share social media content and communications for female football in league/region
  • Identify clubs/leagues needing additional financial support to promote female football
