The Innovative Educator Awards were created to recognize members of Top Hat's community making a difference in higher ed teaching and learning through outstanding work with technology. 

What are the award categories? 
  • Top Educator - Awarded to the instructor using Top Hat as part of a pedagogical strategy that is particularly original, innovative or outcome-driven. This category is open to instructors using Top Hat inside or outside the classroom.  

  • Top Author - Awarded to the member of the Top Hat community who has used Top Hat’s authoring tool to create a particularly original, innovative or outcome-driven educational resource.
  • Top Newbie - Awarded to an instructor using Top Hat for a year or less who has quickly demonstrated mastery in teaching with technology or successfully re-designed their course with Top Hat. 

Winners will be announced at Engage 2018, Top Hat’s two-day event for innovative educators in Chicago, IL (October 26-27, 2018). In addition to great prizes awarded for the top honors in each category, winners will also receive recognition through Top Hat's website and customer newsletter.


The deadline to nominate yourself or a colleague for an award is October 8, 2018.
