Call for Submissions of Information Relevant to the SARS-CoV2 / COVID-19 Chronology
The Independent Panel is establishing an authoritative, evidence-based chronology of the emergence and spread of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 disease; the recommendations made by the World Health Organization and other international and regional bodies; and of the responses made by countries.
The chronology will form the basis for further analysis, which will in turn inform Panel recommendations.
To do this work, the Panel is undertaking literature reviews, reviewing scientific publications, grey literature including news articles and conducting in-depth interviews.
Complementary to reviewing published articles and reports, the Independent Panel would like to benefit from learning how individual governments, academic institutions, civil society organisations and others understand what happened during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. From your perspective:
1. What is your understanding about the emergence, spread across countries and scientific understanding of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19? 2.When did global or regional bodies issue what/which key information, alerts or recommendations? 3.What actions were taken by countries, and when, to mitigate the impact of COVID-19?
The Independent Panel will consider all submissions, and will decide which submissions are most relevant to complete the chronology.
The Panel will undertake a strict verification process for all information used in the chronology.
As part of this process, those who submit must agree to be contacted by the Panel if the submission is to be used.
The Panel requests contributions by December 9, 2020.
